From a very young age, Samuel Dobbelaere studied carpentry and cabinetmaking, specialising in the restoration of antique furniture. He gained experience in the renowned antique shops of the Sablon district of Brussels.
For nearly 10 years, Samuel practiced and perfected his art at an antique dealer specializing in high-end furniture upholstery in the Rue Darwin. He also worked for Luc Ritter, a well-known antique dealer in the Sablon. For many years he practised his art of restoration on collectors’ furniture and art furniture of the High Period and of different styles: French, Italian, Dutch, English, German and even Japanese.
